Establishment of the Bachelor of Science in Physics program:
The Department of Physics has been offering a bachelor’s program in physics since its establishment in 1433 AH, and it is constantly being developed to keep pace with similar international programs in internationally ranked universities. It has obtained conditional accreditation from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (2024-2027).
Program Mission:
The physics program is an academic program that provides a distinguished physics education for the bachelor’s level to prepare a graduate capable of competing in the labor market, innovating, and conducting academic and applied research in the fields of physics to serve society and sustainable development.
Program Learning Outcomes:
1. Define the general theoretical and experimental concepts and techniques of physics.
2. Describe a broad range of physics topics on all scales; including sub-atomic to galaxies scales.
3. Recognize the relevant mathematical techniques and their applications to physics problems.
4. Outline experimental procedures, including proper data recording, analysis and reporting.
5. Explain physical phenomena using fundamental principles.
6. Reconstruct appropriate mathematical methods and numerical techniques to solve physics problems.
7. Analyze experimental data to infer conclusions using a range of physics techniques.
8. Demonstrate self-learning through oral and written presentations and reports, using IT and effective communication tools.
9. Appraise time management, working independently and within a team.
10. Show commitment to honesty, Islamic culture, diversity and innovation.
