Student Transfer and Course Transfer

A student from another university may be accepted to enroll as a regular student at the Islamic University of Madinah, subject to the following conditions:

• The student must have studied at a recognized university.

• The student must not have been dismissed from that university for disciplinary reasons.

• The student must meet the transfer conditions as determined by the University Council.

• Transfer may be conducted during regular semesters only (excluding the summer semester).

• The student must be a Saudi citizen (or have a Saudi mother).

• The student must have completed at least two semesters and no more than four semesters at their previous university.

• The College Council shall evaluate the courses taken by the student outside the university, based on the recommendations of the departments offering equivalent courses.

• The evaluated courses that are considered equivalent will be recorded in the student’s academic transcript but will not be included in the calculation of their cumulative GPA.

• If it becomes evident after the student’s transfer that they had been dismissed for disciplinary reasons, their admission will be considered void from the date the transfer to the university was accepted.

A student may transfer from another college to the College of Engineering at the Islamic University of Madinah under the following conditions:

• The transfer is subject to a highly competitive selection process based on the student's cumulative GPA.

• The student must have completed at least two semesters and no more than four semesters at the previous college.

• All courses taken by the student at the previous college, including semester grades and cumulative GPA, will be recorded in the student's academic transcript.

A student may transfer from one major to another within the College of Engineering, subject to the following conditions:

• The student must have completed at least two semesters and no more than four semesters in their previous major.

• All courses taken by the student in the previous major, including semester grades and cumulative GPA, will be recorded in the student’s academic transcript.

A student who studies courses at another university without transferring is considered a visiting student. The courses taken at the other university are regarded as equivalent to those offered at the Islamic University, subject to the following conditions:

• The student must have completed at least two semesters at the Islamic University.

• The student must obtain approval from the faculty members before taking courses at the other university.

• The student must study at a recognized college or university.

• The course taken outside the Islamic University must be equivalent in content and credit hours to the course required for graduation at the Islamic University.

• The University Council determines the maximum number of credit hours allowed for a student studying courses outside the university.

• The grades for the courses taken as a visiting student will be recorded in the student’s academic transcript but will not be included in the calculation of the cumulative GPA.

• Any other conditions required by the University Council must be met.
